The Annual General Meeting 2019 takes place in the centre of Stuttgart, at Liederhalle venue. We strongly recommend you travel to Stuttgart by public transport!
Getting there by train
Stuttgart central ctation (“Hauptbahnhof”) is situated at Arnulf-Klett-Platz, which is at the eastern end of Königsstraße, basically right in the centre of town. From Hauptbahnhof, follow the signs to the underground (“U-Bahn”) downstairs. From there, you can either take line U14 towards Mühlhausen or train U29 towards Botnang, and get off at Berliner Platz (Liederhalle). To get a a short distance ticket (“Kurzstrecke”, 1.40 Euros) from the ticket machine, press “K“. This journey takes about 3 minutes and trains arrive every 3, 5 or 10 minutes (depending on the time of day). The venue, Liederhalle, is situated right there are the station.
Check the Stuttgart public transport (SSB) website (vvs.de) or app for up-to-date train information.
You can actually get to Liederhalle walking as well, it only takes about 15 minutes. Leave the station building and walk up Königstraße, past Schlossplatz square to your left and Königsbau hall and the art museum to your right-hand side. After the art museum, which is the cubic glass building on your right-hand side, turn right onto the third road on your right, Büchsenstraße. Follow Büchsenstraße up to the junction with Schlossstraße. From there, you can already see the Liederhalle building opposite.
This is important! As you may have heard on the news, there is a ban on Diesel cars with Euro 4 emission standard, and lower. More information on this can be found on stuttgart.de. Arriving by car, please also take into account that parking in Stuttgart city centre is scarce and expensive. Here’s an overview of car parks nearby: www.stuttgart.de/parken.
On Sundays, Liederhalle/Bosch-Areal and Holzgartenstraße car parks charge a flat rate of 6 € for the whole day.
Disabled persons and wheelchair users: Take the right-hand-side entrance to Liederhalle/ Bosch Areal car park to get into Liederhalle from the car park.
A drive from the airport to Liederhalle takes about 25 minutes.
By public transport, take the train line S2 towardsSchorrndorf or S3 towards Backnang and get off at Stadtmitte. Change either to U14 towards Hauptbahnhof or U4 towards Hölderlinplatz and get off at Berliner Platz (Liederhalle). S-Bahn trains run all night from Friday to Saturday, Saturday to Sunday and on public holidays (i.e. this Sunday to Monday).
E mobility/ car sharing
If you want to get around without generating emissions but still drive yourself, you can get a car2go. There are 500 electric cars to go around for car sharing with car2go. By the way, this is the largest number of rentable electronic cars in any German city! To get one of those, you need to have a valid driver’s licence and subscribe with car2go.
Check the internet or car2go app for information on the nearest available car:
For all those who prefer getting around by bicycle, there are about 400 DB rental bikes at your disposal. They are stationed at important locations, such as stations, shopping areas – and also right outside our venue, at the car park exit „Breitscheidstraße“. From this station, you may get an ordinary bike („Call a Bike“) or even an electric bicycle (“e-Call a Bike“).
